Global Entrade

Global Entrade is one of India's most modern cold storage warehousing solutions in North-Eastern region. Their warehousing solutions cover the complete spectrum of temperature ranges from ambient to chilled, frozen and I.Q.F facilities. A headline project of Global Entrade is the INR 1,595 Lacs "Integrated Cold Chain Project" at Tetulia, Assam, under the Cold Chain Development Scheme of the Ministry of Food Processing Industry, Govt. of India.

Challenge

  • Expansive area 85,000 Sq. Ft. of cold-storage facility, with no less than 25 customers
  • To add to complexity, multiple customers were storing the same SKU
  • Most SKUs having a unique temperature requirement
  • Each customer demands involves at wildly differing scale of measurement, e.g. bag-wise, KG-wise, and even crate/pallet-wise

Resolution

  • Stock is maintained by customer, batch, expiry date
  • Stock update done at ambient location before reaching final cold chamber
  • They now have the capacity to create complex billing contracts for each customer, even if the SKU-type is the same
  • Now they are capable of SKU level billing for the same customer and can be scaled to any unit of measurement

Challenge

  • Same material different MRP, no distinguishable identity for sorting, unless price tag was checked, which is a difficult and lengthy task
  • Frequent erroneous dispatches resulting in obsolescence of stock
  • No visibility of CBM utilization of warehouse space
  • Each time an inward occurred, they operators had to open each box and count the pieces and quality, risking damage and delays

Resolution

  • MRP tag and SKU can be identified while scanning, which enables stock keeping at the very first stage
  • Upload utilities for inwards and dispatches, shortening their process / TAT
  • LBH is maintained for all SKUs to determine exact CBM utilization by each customer

Aksh is a three-decade old company, which started manufacturing of optical fiber and optical fiber cables (OFC) in 1994. Aksh went public in 2000 and is listed on NSE and BSE.

Challenge

  • Expensive and legally challenging to set up subsidiaries to set up and operate own warehouses in each country
  • Even while working 3rd party warehouses, there were several challenges, including lack of hardware and computer operators
  • Whatever data was provided, was delayed and its accuracy was questionable

Resolution

  • Virtual warehousing to run the warehouse operations from anywhere in the world
  • Upload based operations, fine-tuned for remote controlling and reporting
  • Receiving entire containers as bulk or in parts
  • Discrepancies and excess is recorded at receival of containers

For Total Oil

Total is a major energy player, which produces and markets fuels, natural gas and low-carbon electricity. They have over 100,000 employees and are active in more than 130 countries.

Challenge

  • No visibility for denomination for sellable packages
  • Optimal utilisation of space and arrangement w.r.t. drum capacity was a big problem
